Polishing Glass

Hi all -

What would you think about using glass polish on some of those tiny scratches on your aquarium glass? Assume that the tank is empty and will be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed before fish are introduced; do you see any other problems using this?

I'm thinking a little speed buffer with some super-fine polish, like an auto detailing shop would use on your windshield.

I'd love to hear your opinions!

As long as it is cleaned really well before adding water it should be fine. I did the same with my scrylic tank, buffed out some scratches with Novus scratch remover, and everything turned out well. I just wiped everything down really well with a wet rag, filled and drained it a few times, then filled it up, added salt, and ran my skimmer for a while. Although you cant really do that last one with a fresh water tank. But I say you should be fine.

I think I'll try that tonight, a buffer with some super fine compound. Hopefully that'll do the trick. Thanks!
