Excluding cost as a deciding factor, which one would you prefer to build an aquarium out of?
Acrylic seems to have the same tensile strength as Polycarbonate (ability to simply hold the water pressure) but Polycarbonate is extraordinarily resistant to impact. Both are available with scratch resistant surfaces.
