putting a mini fan inside my light?

okay my light gets pretty hot. i thought it was from my hood earlier but i left it on away from my hood and the same plastic burning smell comes.. so i was wondering if i could install mini fans inside of it? i dont want to cut anything, but i want some way to cool it down

Is there enough room for a PC fan?

Another thought, what kind of reflector is in the hood between the bulb and canopy? Is there one? Is it touching plastic?

It doesn't make sense that the light is putting off too much heat for the canopy. Unless you are trying to use higher wattage bulbs than what the canopy is rated for and you should return to using the correct ones. If you are using the correct bulbs and are still getting that burning plastic scent, then this is potentially a much more severe problem and may be turning into a fire hazard. It is It may be time to upgrade the canopy.
