Long time no post. Busy with school. (fun.. :()

Anyway,

As I understand it, a fuge is a good place to grow pods and macro algae. My question is, if the pods are meant to be food for stuff in the display tank then how do they get up there? Doesn't the pump chop them up? Wouldn't it work better if there was a fuge ontop of the tank and somehow it overflows down into the display? (a pump feeds the fuge from the display) I may be missing the point, but if I'm going to build a fuge I might as well do it right.

some probably get chopped up but alot make it. And , hey, sometimes I like my food chopped.

Good answer Captain! Pods are tiny little guys and they will wash right through the pump without a problem. I've seen little brittle stars get sucked up a pump and shot out the return without a leg damaged.

related question, where do the pods come from? there has to be a first pod.

either out of a bottle or hitchhikers on other things.. Macro algae, LR, coral, tank water.

And I think there's a pod egg somewhere that want to talk to you :)
