Reinforcing legs

I am currently building a table for my 20G aqaurium and I have a problem of sorts! I want to make my legs stronger again so I was wondering do corner/angle brackets work well for reinforcing the legs?

I think it will help but will also depend on how you are making your stand in the first place.

I'm starting my stand for a 4foot tank tomorrow and I'm making a basic shell first consisting of two rectangles that are then joined together by cross beams all joints will be held together by screws into the ends and then 3inch angle brackets in the corners (I'd rather be safe than sorry I don't want downstairs to be flooded with fish tank water lol)
