Rock thingies I like to make for my tanks

I use slate, a hammer and silicone

Is that feller stone you have there? Very nice work indeed. I have some similar arrangements in my 75 gal. a combo of feller and pagoda.

Hi JC,
I've always known it as "slate". It's flat, grey & can be broken easily.

Yes, it is slate...unfortunately we cannot get slate around here unless it's "imported". Fellerstone supplies slate for LFS.

Id have to do some hiking to find some slate.. there is a section of the next town south that is called slaty banks.. LOL right next to blue lick (lick=the little track of land beside a creek) and the blue is from blue slate..LOL
KY is full of the blue slate.. its a bit more fragile then the gray stuff though...

I keep a bunch of it around some plant beds so I just walk out in the yard and grab a piece. I think a lot of ppl get it at home and garden centers.
