Yeah I am looking to do MH with T5 Actintics down both sides so I may just get the Ballasts and go from there. First off I need to find a tank. :/

Yeah it's best to have a tank first. Hey do you mind posting that link? I'd like to check it out.

I thought I did earlier in the thread I guess that was on the other site. It is:
http://www.ballastwise.com/category.asp?FID=15&level=1

This is for T5's and T5 HO's. I am still looking for MH Ballasts.

I actually considered the reflective tape with some shop lights and just changing out the ballasts, but as I am not ready for the lights yet I am holding off a little longer now. How long have you had this set up?
Puncrock, he did not hard wire anything! all he did was wire a plug to his T-5 unit. He now just plug it in like you ror me would do.
"Hard Wire" is when a person wires a unit directly to the house wiring...Bypassing the plug....

Sounds like a quick way to short your house out.

TC,

I used to do electrical work (mainly 12 and 24 volt), but thanks for the detailed reminder. When I asked I was thinking he connected the wire to the light bulb connectors (no endcaps just we'll say soldered to the bulb) and the male end of the wire to the wall plug with nothing in between. I apologize if my question was not detailed enough. Again thanks for the detailed lesson/reminder.

No problem..We all have to remember that Safety is the most important thing in our hobby. Be it our live stock or our AQ units and all that goes with it. Safety or our hobby will end in a bad way...
