Well, the tank decided today it was going to leak from the bulkhead. I think the bulkhead was faulty. Anyways, the old stand was made of particle board, so it is now useless. I'm going to build a stand on Saturday, so here's what I'm thinking.

Corners: 4x4
4 more 4x4 centered, front and back.
2x4 around top and bottoms to keep 4x4 in place, thinking lag bolts.
Also 2x4 to connect the 4x4 that are centered.
Maybe a piece of marine-grade plywood to finish off the top, and make a level playing field for the tank. Same type for the inside, to hold the sump. The stand will be, about 4.5' tall, to accomodate the sump and skimmer underneath it. The sump is a 55gal, 4ft. long. The display tank is a 125gal, 6' long.

Do these bolts sound OK? I don't care about the aesthetics of the stand, I care about stability.
Polyurethane will be fine to coat it?
Any other tips/pointers?
Thanks.
