thanks camaro. took about 6 weeks for the stands. then they sat for a while cause i ran out of money. the other tank is still empty, and will remain so for at least a month. the stands were intended to have 55g tanks underneath for resevoires, but i've opted out of that idea for money reasons...at least for now.

the wood is likely cypress. also some oak in there as well as grapewood. i don't have any lights on it, so u can't really see everything. all the cypress is dead and dry, so i'm not to worried about fumes. i just stripped the bark w/ a wire wheel/diegrinder. that's why it has light and dark spots.

Do you do that type of work for a living or had lots of practice? I mean, 6 weeks to do all of that seems like a really short amount of time.

(not to sound stupid or anything, but what did you mean by a resevoir?)

Very nice work. That is one (or two) solid stands. Don't have to worry about them falling apart.

thanks for the kind words guys. believe it or not camaro, this is my first go round w/ a wood project like this. i am an auto tech so i have a good tool knowledge, but not so much w/ carpentry and wood tooling. i got a few tips from some other forum friends that helped alot. basically i worked on them on my 2 days off every week. i went over the DIY thread i did at PF, and it was actually closer to 8 weeks.

by resevoir i mean a tank to age water in, so when i do water changes, the water is preconditioned for the main tank. same temp and such. also that eliminates the need for dechlorinator, as chlorine evaorates from the water over time, i will put them in maybe next year.
