I see what your saying,
I guess what I'm trying to point out is that there are no structural rules for designing and building a stand. It's what looks good and appears strong and ultimatly is up to whoever is building it.
So in essence a "Professional" stand is still just a "home made" or "DIY" stand and always will be.

Thats all really..

Dimidiochromis compressiceps,
Astatotilapia latifasciata
Melanochromis cyaneorhabdos
Labidochromis caeruleus
Cynotilapia afra 'Cobue'
Pseudotropheus acei 'Msuli Point'
Aulunocara stuartgranti 'chipoka'
Labidochromis freibergi
Oreochromis mossambicus
Etroplus suratensis

I have a 125 gal tank and stand. When full with 300 lbs of sand and the water and the tank it weighs probably close to 1800 lbs. If level it isn't going anywhere. I've had it on carpet for over a year. Brand new carpet so it is quite thick.

I would have to agree, a 125G isn't going to go anywhere, except the possibility of through the floor if there isn't proper support underneath.
