Wiring fan into PC lights??

I need some instructions on how to wire a fan from a store like radio shack into my power compact lights so when the lights come on so does the fan. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Josh

as far as the fan, you've got two options

1) use a 120volt ac fan, and wire it into the switch for your lights. I'd need to know what your fixture looks like to tell ya more about this

2) use a 12 volt dc fan and a power pack, and put it on the timer with your lights.

radio shack should be able to hook you up with the fan and the power pack, and go to a hardware store and get something called a "cube tap"... it's a molded plastic jobbie that turns 1 outlet into 3, handy for using with timers.

Not knowing how much you know about wiring, I have to say this. Make sure you don't wire the 120v fan in on the ballast. It would have to wire directly to the switch or timer.
