- a 40 gallon rubbermaid container, no baffles
- a 'decent' in-sump protein skimmer
- a 20 gallon refugium, with a powerhead pumping to it from the sump, overflow back to the sump
- a 950gph pump to return water from the sump to the tank.
- 120 lbs live rock in the tank (90 base rock and 30 live to start)
- 20 lbs live rock in the sump

This would start out as a 'fish only' tank, but would like to add corals, etc, at some time in the future. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

you'd probably want to go bigger then 950 (assuming the 9.5 mag) i am sitting at a 75g with the 9.5 and without even running it i think I am wanting to upgrade to possibly a mag 18 or more...

most coral folks seem to think 10-20 times of turn over per hour is what you want...

on a side note, and not to hijack, but for that 10-20 cycles an hour, would that be able to be subed. with a few powerheads?

HTH, and TIA
