YES!! I'm so happy! (DIY stand?)

Well first off, I get to keep my 29G tank!
I'm ultra happy!

The only thing is I need to make a new stand.

I have seen plans and stuff for totally DIY stands.

I went to the home depot tonight and saw unfinished cabinets. One was only like 50 bucks (clearence) My question is: will it be pretty sturdy if I put MDF on the top? If not can I reinforce the corners maybe?

Its totally open underneath but there are doors and two drawers at the top.

Any ideas?

29 gallons of water weighs about 250 lbs. your not going to have a huge problem with the stand not being strong enough. If you screw down a peice of MDF to the top that should be fine. I'd seal the MDF though, it swells once it gets too much exposure to moisture from the tank.
