Farms at thesea.org

I got a buy 3 get 3 free gift certificate from a reef meeting back in Oct. I hadnt got around to redeaming this till winter hit and I have a personal policy I dont order lifestock when the nighttime temp is below 50 on average. Well long story short I forgot about the cert over the winter and found it about three weeks ago.

Last week I placed an order for 6 items from http://www.thesea.org/catalog The intent was to use the buy 3 get 3 free.

Stock was not that great at the time so I picked thru the items in stock and placed my order. For those unfimular with how thesea.org operates you place your order and then the following week on Sunday he tells you what day your shippment will go out. Its kind of strange but it seems to work.

Anyway I was told on Sunday (June 13th) that my shipment would ship on Tuesday for arrival on Wed (June 16th). On Tuesday i got a phone all from Blane (the owner) telling me there was a flight delay and he was not going to be able to get the shippment out till Wed for Thursday (June 17th) delivery. I was fine with this and found it great that he called and sent and e-mail about this. On Wed (June 16th) I got a fedex tracking number for the package to be shipped standard overnight for delivery on Thursday.

Today I got the package. In attempting to verify the 3 for 3 certificate Blane told me that the cert was not intended to be used with other discounts like discounted shipping. He also said that he would toss 3 'free' corals in the box so it was like buying 6 and get 3 free instead. It was not quite what I had initally set out to do on my order but I was ok with it.

The package arrived today in great shape. Upon opening it I found styrofoam formaing a box within the box and between they styro and the box was a plastic bag. Inside the styro was another bag that was zip tied. In this thick plastic bag was my 9 individually double bagged corals. Each attaached to a hunk of live rock.

So far I am satisfied with my order experence. I wish he had more of his corals in stock but thats more a result of my order timing I guess.

Ill post pics once things are in the tank this evening.

I was home alone last night with the baby. Its not easy to keep a 2 month old satisfied and acclomate corals at the same time. I finally got the corals in the tank around 8pm and I started cleaning the glass really well for photos but never got aroudn to taking any.

I reallly wished the wife was home because I hated to have to run upstairs and wash my hands and arms in hot water and soap every time the baby started having her fits. Given that alot of teh corals there zoos I wanted to try my best to remove any possible toxin from my hands each time.

Well here are a few. Some where closed up when I took the pics.

Not sure what color these are as they havent been open much since placed in the tank.

These are kind of a pinkish/lavender color when open.

Sorry Gorg was in the way.

Small orangeish colored Ricorda

Some Orange Zoos

A very bright yellow zoo
