Fish Stores In Texas
Does anybody from Houston know some fish stores with some good prices for fish and some cheap fish tanks. I have like $350 saved up. Spent alot on video games lol. Oh and I am looking for Oscars, Cichlids, Arowana (Dragon Fish), and Guppies.

There is a store on Westheimer called Fish Land thats got a pretty good selection of SW and FW fish at good prices. Don't know about there dry good prices. They have a web site at http://www.kinpark.com/fishland/. If you want to head out toward Conroe there is a place called Fish R Us on 242 east of 45 that has a really good selection of rarer freshwater fish and they have good prices on dry goods. There web site is http://www.fishrushouston.com/.
Of course for the ultimate fish shopping experience you have to go to Aquarium World at 290 and Hollister. Their prices are high but it is worth checking out even if you don't buy anything. They have Indoor ponds, including a SW pond which is way cool. They also have something like a 15,000 gallon SW setup. It really is a neat place. On the north side there is a place called Ultimate Fish on Kuykendahl at Cypresswood that has an extensive selction Oscars, Cichlids and Discus at good prices but their dry good selection isn't to great and the place is pretty much a dump, but the fish are good quality. Hope this helps.

The LFS here is Alexandria has a huge arrowana in its display tank. They had 3 juveniles about 2-3 inches in length, normal price 79.00, sale price 39.00, this was just 2 days ago....lets see, I made it to the airport in 3 hours in houston, so add and hour or so and you could have your fish for a 4-5 hour one way drive!
Sounds doable! |

I've been going to a few different stores in houston. one of them used to be called the Fish Ranch on Jones road (right west beltway on 290). i think its called aquatic world now. anyways, theyve a good selection of fish and decent prices on equipment, and they are always willing to "help out". the other place is called ultimate fish on kuykendahl at cypresswood (also northwest side). i havent been there in a while, but they had the BIGGEST cichlid selection ive seen, and they've given me the best quote on a tank/stand/hood (im in the market) anywhere in town as far as ive checked (which has been pretty extensive). hope that helps.
