Livestock online

who orders their live stock online?

Who did you order from? what did you order? How much did you pay? How was the overall experience?

i have done it but i did not order stuff that you want to look great in the tank. i order my clean up crew from liveaquairm.com well the total came to 106 and the order with out shipping was like 60 some thing. but i really would not order corals or fish online unless i know that it is with a pic. i want to know what it looks like before i get it.

Lots of folks here have ordered livestock on-line. If you don't have a quality [acronym:c48c8fb2d6="Local Fish Store"]lfs[/acronym:c48c8fb2d6], there's not much choice. I happen to have one [acronym:c48c8fb2d6="Local Fish Store"]lfs[/acronym:c48c8fb2d6] about a ½ hour away that I've purchased quality livestock from. His prices are not really any higher than the on-line stores when you add in the shipping costs and the fact that you are only adding 1 or 2 fish at a time.

Clean up crews, detrivore kits, ricordea, [acronym:c48c8fb2d6="Mushroom coral"]shrooms[/acronym:c48c8fb2d6], I've bought on-line from a variety of sources.

PalmettoReefs.com and JustPhish.com are two on-line retailers I have been happy with.

If you plan on ordering live fish on line be prepered to pay twice as much because of the shipping costs.

I have looked into it and when I tried to but 3 5-6 inch Rhyukins which came to about 80 dollars the shipping was also 80 dollars...

as far as im concerned its better to go to th nearest [acronym:2c6a4a5c1c="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:2c6a4a5c1c] and look at what ur buying even if it is 100 miles away...

Ur livestock might also not show up at ur door as live stock but rather as submerged sushi.. not a pretty site.

Its up to you

What about places like www.saltwaterfish.com that let you have free shipping on orders over 75?

dude it's 75$ not 75 fish. hahaha. but hey mike i have ordered from premium aquatics and because they are only in Indiana thier shipping comes next day even when you pay regular shipping. the only thing is is if you don't pay for next day they wont warrenty anything. personally all my stuff has always come next day but theres a little risk involved.

What did you order?

I noticed there prices were still kind of high, even with cheap shipping.

Michael,

LiveAquaria has free shipping on livestock orders over $175 with a 10 day guarantee. I've ordered livestock from them but have heard the usual range of praise to horror.
