Looking for the best deal for Saltwater Plants

In the long run of setting up my new tank I've come to the idea of planting as many plants as I can before I release the weedwacker in to the tank (AKA my yellow tang). So I've been looking for the best deals online to all the different saltwater plants. If anyone out there can find me some good deals on non-lethal SWP I would be much appricative.

Peace,
DHS

Saltwater plants are referred to as macro algae. Good quality live rock will have many different varieties on it just waiting for you to increase the intensity of the lights. Heavy feeding will also encourage a lush growth of algae. But be careful what you wish for. Many macro alga, once established and well fed, will quickly take over your tank. A little green in the display tank is attractive, a jungle blocks the view and chokes your corals. A good approach is to set up a refugium or a smaller tank that shares the same water (like a sump) to grow your macro algae in. That way you get the benefits of the nutrient export but it doesn't take over your tank.

No actually I'm looking for more then the standard "macro algae". I'm looking for more caulerpa type plants sort of like what I found here Reeftopia. Because my snails take care of the basic stuff but my tang loves things he can get his "beak" onto.

Peace,
DHS

Those are macro algae. Snails eat micro algae. I stand by my post. Substitute the word caulerpa for algae if you like, it's the same info.

Agree, caulerpa=macro algae.

I dont know of any such "saltwater plant" that is not micro or macro algae.

Some of them look just like plants..."leaves" and all, but as stated above, it's caulerpa.

Marine plants

I'm a new member and was browsing around the site and saw your post. I wanted to let you know that when it comes to salt water plants (ie. turtle grass and shoal grass) or macros (ie prolifera and gracilaria) nobody can compete with FloridaPets.com. they have the best selection and prices. I highly reccomend you check them out!!
