Might want to watch out for Petsolutions.com

I placed a order this morning for 50lbs of reef rock for $59.99. I got the email from UPS about the shippment and got the tracking number. However the problem I have is that UPS shows the box weighing 41.40lbs. So I wonder what happened to the other 8.6lbs of rock? I have sent them and email and will let you know when I hear from them. This would be the first time I have had a problem with them. Been dealing with them for years. I will let you know!

Just got a very quick response from Don at Petsoluions.com. This is what he had to say. Not sure how to take it?

"This item comes “prepacked” from our supplier so I am not sure if that is as close as they got and filled the box, or if the scale was off. Please let us know once it arrives."

That is pretty "normal" as far as I'm concerned. Most weights are estimates and you should definitely call each company so you know if their boxes are standard 40lb. boxes or if they offer 50lb. boxes, that way you know how much to order to obtain your needs/wants.

seems that if you offer 50lbs you should send 50lbs

Just got this email from Don and this is why I will still do business with them!

"
Keep us posted. I am not sure how much of a “margin of error” the manufacturer plans for since they are somewhat limited to what will physically fit in the box and may ship plus/minus a few pounds. We will find out."

To update this thread. I got the box of reef rock and it was only 42lbs and should have been 50lbs. Petsolutions made it good and gave me a credit on my card. I was a little upset at first but they made it good no hassle's. They are great to do busniess with!

PS.com is my only online supplier of tank gear, I get most the other stuff from Ultra low prices on aquarium supplies and equipment (mainly cause they are local and I only pay the shipping they list) I get it overnight for the same price as 2-3 day ground fedex. perk for me but their prices are dirt cheap on most the stuff.

Only issue I had with PS.com was a heater that didnt work, got a credit back and a new heater for S&H,thats it. Very good company to do business with. I am glad they made it right with your transaction.

They are great the only other store I use is marine depot! Have you bought any fish from them? If so how are they? Would you recommend them for that? I want to order some livestock from them soon.

From who PS or MD? I have never used MD, and have never shipped or recieved livestock thru the mail, that sight unseen stuff on living creatures doesnt sit well with me, I like picking out the unique ones.
