You Lucky Canadians

Last week I was in Toronto and just had to stop into BigAls. It was the store in North York, Ontario. I was immediately impressed. The selection of fish was awesome. The tanks were clean and healthy. They had some of the best looking plants I've ever seen in a retail establishment.

Cool! The Big Al's up in Barrie (my 'local') is great too. What brought you "up north?" Next time, let us know and we can meet you down in the city! You were about an hour from funk and I I'd love to meet some AA members!

Well, you must have hit a good one. Here, in Ottawa, there are two Big Al's, and the tanks condition really suck. Green algea, bubble algea, red slime, dead fishes or dying, etc.... And everything they sell is twice more than in the US. So, when I really need to buy livestock, I drive up to Montreal where they have a really good BA. Tanks look good and fishes are healthy.

Just my 2 cents...

I guess there's something to be said for management Serge. I really wasn't looking at the prices. Just the quality, magnitude, and display. They had equipment and such that I never see, even in NY.

I thought about trying to have an AA get together up there Tracy. I know many of our members are in Ontario. I was up on business and thought the task would be a little daunting. Maybe next time as I do get up there fairly regularly, and think it's a wonderful place.

The brampton Big als is getting very run-down and cluttered. The one in oakville is apparently spotless and MASSIVE. i think i may trek down there this weekend.

Big Als is Great

Hey I went to Big Al's by Toronto and I was very impressed. Had a massive selection, too. I'm planning on buying my first saltwater tank there. Hoping for something big. But praise be to Big Al's on my part.

The Big Al's shops up here are all franchises, so they vary store to store.

We are also lucky cuz we get to have snakeheads and Asian aros.
