Amber Alerts

While waiting on hold for tech support at Cingular Wireless, one of the messages was in regards to the amber alert system. It stated that over 200 missing children have been found and recovered due to this being in place. You give your cell number and they wil text message you when there is an amber alert in your area. You put in up to five zipcodes. This is not just cingular, but any cell phone company and phone that can receive text messaging. I urge everyone to sign up for this because you just might be the one to save a child.

Cingular is a cell phone carrier here in the States.

cell phone service provider...but cingular just participates in the program, they do not run the program. It is open to any with a cell phone that can do text messaging.
