Does anyone know why my fish would have been starving for oxygen when I put zeolite crystals in my fish tank

Nothing springs to mind. Did you take any water spec readings before and after per chance? I didn't think it would change O2 but have only used it a few times.

I don't think it takes out O2 but to be honest those chemicals are no good. I recommend continuous water changes till you get rid of all ammonia.

Almost wonder if it could be discharging somehow but can't think how. The salt level needed to recharge seems much higher than normal tank water.
