A girl I know posted that she has one and is going to get a fish. I am urging her to at least get an ammonia kit to test it and explain that the water will need changing at some point even if the kit does what it says.

It's.... not terrible? The concept is decently sound but pulling it off on that scale usually doesn't work out. But the tank itself is good enough for a betta so as long as she gets a heater. And the site has good advice- it only recommends a betta or a few guppies while advising against goldfish, and it also recommends a heater for the betta.

Definitely encourage test kits and water changes.

It's a decent product from all that I've read, certainly suitable for a betta as sin stated. I'd however reconsider intervening in your friends plans unless they ask for help/advice.. most don't take well to forced Advice, especially when it comes to fish;)

Yeah, I should have just PMed her.

She's not opposed, but not sure if she'll listen to me.

This other girl was rude to me on the post, said maybe I should delete my comment so I don't get her dumb-*** notifications. And I thought it was spelled beta. I reported her.

And then I said being rude gets you places doesn't it? UGH. People suck sometimes -_-

Opened up a can.... I feel a debate coming on. One girl said hers lived fine for 7 yrs in a little bowl on the kitchen counter -_-

I may just need to bow out. I should have stayed out of it.

This thing is 3 gallons, though :) So that is good at least.
