Aquarium advancement

It amazes me at times just how far we have advanced in aquarium technology?
All the hi-tech equipment that we now use, the beautiful tanks that are now available to us, when I first had a tank it looked like this-

And my filter was the good old box/corner filter-

That you had to hand pack with activated charcoal and floss, which ran off of an air pump, now we have power filters, uv sterilizers, canister filters and so many more devices that we use to take care of our fish or as I call them my kids (yeah I'm a fish geek what about it??? LOL)
But I sometimes wonder just how we kept our fish alive back then???
And aquaria websites like this one that help out so many people, I would like to thank you all, I've used other sites before but I like this one better than the rest!!!
This is a great passion we all share!!!!!

Yes aquarium technology has advanced greatly throughout the years....

I wonder what it's going to be like in 10 yrs or more? No tellin' huh?

Even today, I'm still learning about stuff that has been out for a few years now..
