Bad LFS customer or employee stories!

I want to hear your worst LFS stories! But, make sure you don't use the name of the store, or even something like Smetco or Fetplart. Opand don't use profanity. And don't go off topic. And don't start fights. And now, let the stories BEGIN!

Customer jus bought tank it is on her shopping wagon Fish specialist to customer how big is your aquarium: customer 15g specialist: ok here are a list of fish that are suitable for your tank oscars, 100 neons, 6 plecos the list goes on here is the equipment you need sand and decor. Customer what about a filter: fish specialist oh all you don't need a filter or hood because fish will jump above the water to breathe and if you don't over feed there will never be any ammonia nitrite trAtes because nothing decays and your pleco will eat the poop. At that moment I am steaming and want to step in and give this " expert" a piece of my mind but I didn't and the lady walks out with 1 Oscar 1 fancy koi 10 guppes and 20 neons.

That sounds almost too bad to be true, terrible. Talking of oscars that leads me to my story. Seeing a 12inch oscar in 10-15gallon where it couldnt turn around without pressing its face against the glass. But a customer obviously brought it to them so cant really blame the lfs for it, finding a tank for a customers fish isnt top priority.

Koi. I have 2 friends that have koi in tanks with completely inadequate filtration. Who think they know what theyre doing but have no idea, neither of them understand the nitrogen cycle.

Trying to tell them this is a losing battle and they think im trying to better myself and put them down.

The worst thing is he bought 25 3inch koi and put them straight into 200l tank uncycled with a filter not even rated for the tank it was in. I said thats not big enough!!! do 50% water changes daily until its cycled at least. He said 'no your supposed to do 10% weekly' and wouldnt listen at all or take advice of any kind. And kept saying 'ive kept fish all my life' but he hasnt!! Whos he trying to fool. His mum had a crappy little tank when he was 16.

It was annoying me to the point were i didnt want to talk about fish with him because it would ALWAYS lead back to his bad fish keeping and we'd argue. I dont see him much anymore because i think hes abit of an idiot.

It could funny sometimes aswell because hed talk ***** and slip in afew words like nitrates and things to sound informed. And when i challanged him it was always the same reply. ' ive kept fish for blah blah blah.
