There is a such thing as plywood tanks o believe you can find how to on you tube or simply just Google

That's awesome!!! What thickness does teh plywood have to be?? And also....does the inside of it need to be sealed with something? Or was it the paint he used?

Thickness of the plywood depends on the size of the tank. There are plenty of plans out there for tanks ranging from 300 to a couple thousand gallons. It seems you have to go bigger than 350ish gallons to make it worthwhile.

To seal the tank a lot of folks have been using Rubberize It. https://www.rubberizeit.com/

I have seen some that used pond liner :) not sure what would be easyer. I'm a big DIY person maybe someday ill try it. I have this dead spot in my house that a big tank would fit nicely in. Like 6'x6'x5'

This is a neat thread! I only have small tanks and am fascinated by the big ones!

I did the calculations on this and it would be roughly a 1481 gallon tank(no I did not mistype that) that would be awesome..... Best tank ever!!! Except the fact of those weekly 50% water changes!!!!!!
