Well its that time of year again and Bonnie and Charley are upon the gulf coast. With that said, what a great excuse to purchase a generator. I got a Briggs and straton 5500watt that lasts 11 hrs on a tank of fuel.

I'm the type of guy that needs an excuse to purchase a big ticket item!

Thank you Bonnie!!!

We had Isabel last summer, and we got a generator two days after the hurricane, believe it or not! My brother in law found someone who still had 2, so he bought both - there was nary a generator for miles and miles for the rest of last summer, LOL!

I think they are a great investment, because even though hurricanes are extraordinarily rare here, we have ice storms and the like that takes power out for days at a time.

LOL! I saw an article about early transportation and they had a drawing of a vehicle with cage-like wheels and large dogs inside - they recommended you dangle food in front of them to speed up, or in an emergency, dangle a CAT! It was apparently a serious advertisement at the time.

OT: Fruitbat, have you seen the latest FAMA with the Polypterus article? Oddball of the Month!

I am so not up on current topics  I was hoping to seeing pics of new fish, or cats, dogs, gerbils....

Oh yes - anyone with pics of gerbils keeping a generator going, bring it on!

I got my FAMA in the mail today, hot off the presses!
