CO2 bubble counter???

I am about to start up a home CO2 system. I was wondering why do people use a bubble counter? Is there a certain amount of bubbles per second for a 29 gallon? Is there an equation? Thanks!

It's a metric that is somewhat comparable tank to tank (but not reliably) but good at judging levels in a single tank from day to day. For instance, for you I would start at 1.5 - 2 bps, and slowly increases it until you got the drop checker/plant response you were looking for. If you didn't have a bubble counter, you would just be guessing how much is going into the tank and how much you were changing it at a time.
