Confirmed Lionfish sighting on South Texas Reef

Saw this news from my Alma Mater today - I suppose it is only a matter of time before the Flower Garden's are overrun as well.

I wonder if there is potential for some sort of equilibrium without human intervention, but the current track record seems to imply otherwise. There are many predators in this region capable of snacking on these little fellows - how long before they realize...
