Alarms don't really deter thieves. How many of us have heard an alarm going off and not even looked out our windows. Most of us get a little testy that the thing is going off and disturbing us, right?

Learned a few years ago to every once in a while to update your homeowner's insurance. We bought house in 1986 and wife didn't really have much jewelry. Well, over years she accumulated a little bit. We came home one day and someone had kicked back door and our bedroom door in and taken every bit of jewelry we had in our small boxes. When we went to file claim, it would only cover $500 and she had over $6000 in jewelry. Well, we at least got to claim as loss on our taxes because she had kept all reciepts.

Good thing htat came out of this is we now have safe in our house that took son and I to haul in(HEAVY & BIG). Wife said we should bolt it down. I told her that most thieves weren't going to bother trying to take a safe as heavy and as big as it was and even if they did, I wasn't going to try and stop them. If one person was able to carry that safe off, then they were too **** big for me to mess with. :P
