Devastated, Again.

Back in April, I had my first car stolen from outside my girls house in Greenwich, SouthEast London. Not only was it my first car, i had also spent over a £1000 on modifying the car / tuning it etc. It was found a week later with everything taken / stripped.

I will attach a photo of the car, if you don't see any, then they are too big obviously. which was taken only a couple of days before it was stolen. By the way, the car still wasn't finished.

We had a big new years eve bash at my house this year, all the parents mates came over like last year and as my Grandma lives right opposite me, we thought it'd be a good idea to free up some space on the drive by myself and my mum moving our cars over there.

Anyway, feeling a little worse for wear yesterday, I really couldn't be arsed to go and bring the car back and thought I'd just leave it there till this morning before work.

At about 8.20am this morning, on crossing the road to my Grandma's drive, I was greeted by the passenger door open and my head unit CD player, 16" sub bass box in the boot, Alpine Amplifier and Kenwood 6 x 9 " speakers all gone. Bout £400 worth, The lot. Oh and a dented rear tailgate with the lock fu**ed where the metal had been cut.

My question then I suppose is - can you actually have anything nice in the world without some fu**ed up, inbred, theiving sack of sh** waiting to nick everything you've worked hard for and take pride in ??????

Sorry for the rant. At least I still have 4 wheels I suppose.
Happy new year to me.

I hear you Grant, Loud and Clear! Verry sorry that happened to you.

My house was burglarized 6 years ago, the cleaned out all electronics, and smshed the place up looking for money or jewelry, I supposed.

Never caught them, cops didn't really even seem to care. I was so angry I'm surprised I didn't have a stroke. I get mad just thinking about it.

The vast majority of us work hard for our stuff, then the low-lifes just take it!

Car insurance cover your sound system?

That is just the worst!I have had car stereo stuff stolen right out in front of my old place on a busy street no less.Several years back my motorcycle was stolen while I was a t my girlfriends place. It wasn't even a good bike!Once I even witnessed a car prowling and chased the guy but he got away.Even with a good description and police dogs the cops couldn't find him.It just makes ya feel hopeless!

Corax, over here, especially for younger drivers, car insurance is astronomically high priced. For me to claim and get back about £200, would probably put my premium up by about ££££ !! You get my drift, basically, it's not worth it.

Sad but true.

ouch.

I've had my car stripped twice - once about 10 years ago, the other 6 years ago. The first time they broke my window, took my Alpine CD player (10 years ago = very expensive for CD players!), my sub box, and my amp. I caught the bastard though! Very satisfying even though I didn't get a lot of it back.

The other time was in my underground garage at my apartment! That time they broke the door handle and took everything again. The damage to the door was $600! I wish they'd just broken the window again... cheaper to fix.

They tried to steal my motorcycle from the same garage 2 weeks later, but I beat them! I had unhooked the spark plugs on a hunch that someone might try it... they hotwired it and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't fire. Idiots.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I think all you can do is try your best to protect yourself and hope for the best. It helps me to know that "what goes around comes around." Someday, they'll get theirs.

Hey grant, did you know that in the USA, in most of the states you are required by law to have car insurance.

Sorry to hear what happened to your car. Would it be affordable and/or useful to get a car alarm? Other than that, it is pretty hard to guard hard earned items from thieves who are intent on taking them.

Hey, sorry to hear about your car.

If it's any consolation, it made me feel a bit better about the £60 parking fine I got tonight ... insignificant in comparison!

Alarms are always good, but at the end of the day, a thief is just a scumbag and if they are set on something, they will have it, no matter what.

Michael - It's also law to have car insurance in UK.
