" You can make a fish glow by injecting it with glow stick liquid " ~ some stupid person

I know :( people don't understand fish at all :( , they did a test with gold fish that they put it in a net with a hole and it figured how to get out and than after a year they put the same goldfish in and right away it knew how to escape , and people say " they have a 3 second memory span and that's why you can keep them in bowls " ( or anything smaller than 20 gallon , except single tail goldfish they need 55+ gallons )

Who would even try to inject glow stick liquid into a fish? There was a .5 gallon tank being sold for bettas and on the side it said, " other fish suitable for this tank include guppies, zebra danios, and white cloud minnow" in addition it encouraged the buyer to keep those fish in groups.

Smh at them

The dumbest advice I was given. Was probably to let fish float in a bag for 10 min to get adjusted. That's all fine and dandy. But what happens when you open the bag and the water perimeters are totally different??
Exactly. Haha.

My Dad-"That Pleco wont grow, its small. It will fit right into your 10 gallon"

And also "These guys on that online forum are brainwashing you" lol

24hr is all you need for cycling-associate from my local [store] superstore

1) I heard a [store]employee tell a customer that they should put in their new 10 gal tank, as first fish, 1 oscar, 2 guppies, some platies and some neon tetras. I laughed. ( Thankfully, they didn't listen and just got some guppies.)

2) Bettas don't need clean water- pet shop employee

3) Bettas need 10 gal. aquariums to keep multiple males in them- too many people on internet forums.

4) Breeding fish like other fish in their tanks- pet stores and forum posts.

5) ANY kind of algae you can grow is good algae- Chain store employee

Lol my dad said the same thing. He also said oh he will be fine living in the river. ( as I'm 8 years old crying ) the fish was almost a foot big.

See my Lfs is actually very responsible and gives great advice and all of the employees have their own tanks and considering that the manager and owner have been working there for 30 years they are very realiable. [store] and [store] are the real culprits here most of the time.

What I can't stand are those pictures on the aquarium boxes that show like 6 swordtails, 3 dwarf gourami, a few Platys and some tetras all living happily in a 10 gallon tank!

Three orandas in a 10g tank. -_- their slogan "it's all about the fish". I'd like to change it to "it's all about these fish that will die in a matter of days".

'You'll need this expensive light in your tank or your fish will lose all their colours in the dark' ([store] fish 'specialist')

What did I reply?

'Actually my house has windows so I think we'll be fine.'

I went elsewhere and bought a bigger, better and less expensive tank which does happen to have a light but luckily I have the windows to rely on if we have a power cut ;)
