Fish grow to tank

How can I prove a fish doesn't grow to its tank?? When i say it will be stunted but they are like "it doesn't look it it". I just quit my job because I had to tell so many lies about fish and this one!

I'm assuming you mean that Fish do not grow to a certain size in a small tank. A fish does not grow to its tank, it keeps growing as long as you feed it, til it reaches its normal size. If theres no space, then the fish either gets deformed/sick/dies.
