I was wondering how many of you have named your fish... The best thing about a new fish is watching it interact and learning its personality. It took us about a week for us to come up with our guys' names.

Af. cichlids are:
Red Zebra - OJ aka Orenthal James
Blue Cobalt - AC aka Al Cowlings
Electric Yellow - Judge Ito

Dwarf pleco - Kato Kaelen (sp?)

As you can see... we sorta started with OJ and the rest fell into place. ;)

Our kids name our fish, so, with that in mind, we have...

Phil & Lil, the Ocellaris clowns
Chiquita, the Yellow Tang
Lou the Blue (Hippo Tang)
Organary - Purple Tang (no clue where that name came from)
Liberty, the Copperbanded butterfly (because the Statue of Liberty is made from copper). :)

Angelfish: Homer, Marge, and Bart!

goldfish in pond:
The Bronze (Mad Max)

Goldfish victims (Used to be in the pond, eaten by predators)
Dot, or Gandhi (all white with a perfect Hindu dot on forehead)
Red-Eye
Big Red

Last year's Bullfrog:
Elvis!

My girlfreind names my fish

Clown-Hud (her last name is hudson, I call her huddy, she cut that in half)
Big snail- DAMN YOU GET OUT OF MY WAY, I CANT SEE THE PRETTY STUFF

My pond comets go by the names of:
the big orange one
the white one
the orange/black one
the black one
the red and white one
the red one with a white tail, the red one
the one with no tail

The rest along with my cats and rosies are nameless.

OK, a couple of my co-workers (female) insisted that my fish have names. That was when I only had two fish in the tank, a green chromis (last one left of original 4 bought from Petco) and a Coral beauty bought from the LFS the kid at Petco told me about :) .

So as the last survivor of 4 the Green chromis obviously is a female. The LFS is owned and run by Carol and Bob, so the chromis was named Carol and the CB Angel was named Bob.

Then I got a pair of true Percs so they naturally are named Ted and Alice (showing age).

My purple firefish got named Bruno due a picture I took and showed at work.
The rest are awaiting proper names.

I have a pair of percula clowns. They are Lola (the female - who would probably hang out at the Copa Cabana) and Peanut (her male).

AM i the only one that does not name their fish?

Yes :?

Perc clown : Pennywise Kids and wife call her Nemo, but I refuse to be brainwashed.
Yellow Goby: Walter Mathau
Red lipped blenny: booger (or "why you little b***h")

I dont name my fish, however if theres two of the same speices with same colours than it goes down to size ie parrot fish (reg size) baby parrot fish (the smaller one even if its 4 inches ;)

AM i the only one that does not name their fish?

Almost none of my fish have names, just those few. They have to have a personality or physical characteristic that Inspires the name.

10 gal-
My 2 corys are were named, but then I forgot which one belonged to which name, so now they don't have names. My blue gourami is spot (original, I know), my austrailian rainbowfish is Gemini. I do not name the individual neon tetras...together they are known as The Blob.

46 gal-
3 plecos - Gunther, Anigo, Leonard. Betta- Louie-da-fish. The other ones are nameless.
