fish surgeons

I was just watching nova on PBS and they had a segment on fish vets and apparently NC state university has an aquatic veterinarian department that is advanced as any other veterinarian department. They even practice pain management and created a device to deliver anesthesia to fish.

Fish vets would be cool but most likely too expensive for the average aquarist. LOL my cats cost me an arm and a leg at the vets. Advice here at AA much cheaper and likely more accurate LOL

Astounding....especially since my grandfather had already done so in 1951 . Here is a photo of him in his fishroom from a newspaper article on him, his fish, and the fish surgeries he did.

...and yes, there were 41 tanks in his basement fishroom...plus three upstairs....its genetic, I am afraid.
