I'm building a fishroom, so I need some design ideas! Throw some pics out here!

I'm following along because I always wanted a fish room. :)

I'm starting one in the next week or so! I hope someone has some input. :) if not, I'll share my progress and anything I wish I had done differently. I will have a 55g, 3x10 g, 2x 30g tanks. :) I cannot wait! I'm ecstatic!

Do you mind If I tag along? I would like to see how many tanks and what sizes people have! :) I expect to hear a lot emerald!

I have a 29 and 10 in my bedroom. Comparing this to some on here, it's not really a 'fish room' though. One piece of advice I'm going to give is: be sure to have a strong floor. A gallon of freshwater weighs about 8 pounds, the weight will add up quick! Not to mention all the sand, gravel and some decor weighs a lot.

I have 4 racks of 40 breeders just like this one on each wall totaling 13 tanks(9 40's and 4 20L's), they're avaiable at Lowes for $79 and hold the breeders perfectly. They look much better than wooden racks in my opinion.

How do you do water changes? Lol

Are your racks just two shelves high? I have not seen any metal shelving units at lowes that were only a couple of shelves high at $79. Most are much taller. I would prefer what is shown in your pics. More like very sturdy double aquarium stands.

Yes they are the same, as with any shelving unit you can either build them side by side or stack them all, here they are below. They have other ones that would fit larger tanks as well but 40 breeders work best for what I need in my room, add in the dollar per gallon sale and your room can be made a great price.

Thanks very much. I agree that both the shelving and the petco dollar sale add up to a great bargain and 40 breeders are the perfect size tank.

I'm positive that what you're going for is something much larger than this, but I finally got to move and have a fish room! I'm moving, so it's a mess. But I'm so excited, I can't hardly stand it! Now to save up the money to get that 55 gallon reef started! I made the hard decision to sell my 30 tank to fund my new saltwater endeavors. Hope it was worth it!

don't know if you would call it a fish room but here is where my tanks are kept. I have a 40b, 70, 56 column, and an 8g (not shown).

I'm going to tag along. I need to find something that will hold about ten tanks, various sizes. My bedroom is in the basement, so I could have as many gallons as my parents will let me! Lol!
I hope to have
1 55
1 40 breeder
my 25
2 5's
4 Ten Gals or 20 gals
and maybe some space for 'unplanned' tanks... ;)

Sorry for hijaking! I like everybody's fish tank rooms!
