Hello everyone! This is my first post in this forum so I'm sorry if I'm reposting something or going against what is the standard here. My cat knocked the cover of my fillet for a20 gallon planted shrimp tank. I was unable to retrieve it until I had someone to help move it. In that time I've noticed a significant amount of flies in my apartment. The only reason I'm blaming the tank is that I had flies that looked like ants with wings all floating in the water completely out of the blue. Has anyone had these issues?

They're probably coming from another source and drowning in the tank.

Have you had a lot of rain recently?

Most ants with wings are wood type ants. I don't think you have a problem with your aquarium. I would check around and see where the ants might be coming from. They fall out of my trees in the yard from time to time after a good rain and float around my pool . Just a thought.
