No salt, added non aquarium plant fert to the tank, and only had a regular aquarium light on them. Also his goldfish was getting to big for his 30 gallon and kinda look deformed. Well when he showed a picture to the shop owner she smiled and explain why RED DEVILS do not belong in a 30 gallon.

My point exactly.

Yeah those there, those are the ones my cat likes...

I know that was so wrong.

I guess I should add that she was pointing at a huge koi fish. I'd hate to see that cat!

So I just came out of my local chain store. I saw a woman that had 2 koi and a goldfish, along with a 1gallon plastic bowl.. After talking to her about the actual needs of the fish she had, she scoffed and said I obviously knew nothing about fish, and said that everyone knows that fish grow to the size of the tank. After I told her I know and its called stunting and that its detrimental to their health, briefly talked about what fish actually require, she called me an idiot and walked away.

It took all the selfrestraint I had not to tell at her..

I guess fish technically grow to the size of their tank because once they do get bigger they just die.... I had someone tell me it was ridiculous that a goldfish needed a tank because they had one that lived for a year in a bowl. I said well yea their life span is actually over ten times that...

Well.. I've been "thrown" out of that store before for getting in a fight with an employee. Sadly its the closest place to get basic stuff like salt, and don't really wanna be banned. Which is what they said would happen if it happened again..
