Anyone into modifying source code please jump in. Specificly Wordpress. anyway. I need some help on how to add images to my header at www.reefraff.com/WordPress
I want to first ask For permision to use some pics off the site. I will only consider pictures from a users gallery whom have given me direct permision to do so in this thread.

to the artists here:
I would like more information on how to design, and what you use to design (i.e software if any) to make header art. My first idea is to have a my header image fade into the background color as it travels left to right accross the header. I would like to learn how to do it but if someone might have something in mind i'm all ears.

I only have Wordpress support forums and documentation to use as a guide right now. If there are any other information sites dealing with the proper use of source code for wordpress and css stylsheets please let me know.

If you notice on my page I have learned enough today to be able to place the Aquariumadvice button in my sidebar. a small token of appriciation to the site for all the help .

See if this helps.

Photo editing. For a low cost you can pickup PhotoShop Elements from Adobe. Its like a watered down version of the very expensive photoshop applications that pros use.

As far as permission for pics you need to contact the photographer. Its good to see your seeking such as there are way to many out there that dont see the purpose.

As far as CSS

I'm not a web page designer, though do have some HTML/CSS experience (recently completed a simple online introductory course). I do graphic design however and as far as I know, you would create a graphic then add it in as an image like the photographs you have. That's how I've done it.

I took a HTML/CSS introductory class here...

There is a class starting on Feb. 6. There may still be room. It's a freebie class taught by those who like to teach these things and have the time to do it. You won't come out an expert, but it'll teach you the basics. There are also PSP (Paint Shop Pro) graphic classes.

Paint Shop Pro is a PC (personal computer; not power compacts...lol) graphics software originally made by Jasc and is now owned by Corel. IMO, I find it more versatile than Adobe and for a fraction of the cost. I've done whole graphic ads using PSP and made it compatible for professional printing off of Mac. So the designer isn't limited to Mac compatible software such as Adobe. The only limitation I've come across is the actual creation of CMYK images. CMYK is the color code for Mac like as RBG is for PCs. However, PSP can create separate color files for CMYK printing. So, again, the designer isn't limited to Mac compatible software to create Mac printing compatible graphics.

I know...long link...LOL...but it goes to Corel's official site for the new PSP X. I have version 8 and do plan to upgrade. I don't think it comes with Animation Shop. PSP 8 and 9 did. It's a very simple animation software. The intentions of using PSP with Animation Shop is that you do all the graphic work in PSP, then just simply put it together and add some effects in Animation Shop. Even Animation Shop being separate from PSP to buy, it is still just a small fraction of what other graphics softwares go for...and you get great versatility.

About 95% of the graphics on this website I've done using PSP and animation Shop.

Some more examples of graphics done on PSP...This goes to a storage where I put all my lesson graphics. Password is Childress. Feel free to browse. The password is need because it is not open to the public. I like photobucket because it gives you the option to control traffic through your albums.
