How do i care for an unfiltered tank?

Well, guys, the storms are arriving NY and i am worried sick. First of all i know my pleco is tolerant of unfiltered water for short times. So i need 2 things.
1:rate these fish based on how they fare with no filter or heat: guppy, killy, whiteskirt tetra, red eye tetra, endler livebearer.
2: how do i deal with an unfiltered tank? I have spare hermit hothands i could line the tanks with i guess. But do i stir and pump?
