How I spent my Fall vacation.... - Aquarium Advice

Many heartfelt thanks go out to justDIY for coming to our balmy state and helping get the coral farm put together, to Possum for coming out and helping as well. We now have 4, 55 gallon tanks plumbed together into a hundred gallon sump. 2, 1000 watt mh lighting system, all in its own building. Hopefully in a few months, Fantasy Reef corals will be online and running.

In celebration (pre celebration) of this grand event, we all took a trip down to Galveston Island to see Moody Gardens aquarium/rainforest. It was a great trip. Lots of photo ops which we hope to share with you soon.

On the way home, we stopped at fishland and I got a few nice pieces of coral. A large pipe organ, Hammer, candy cane, small bubble, something called an octopus leather that I will be posting in id section as I am sure it goes by another name, and some texas holey rock for the eel tank.

Yesterday, I purchased 3 bangai cardinals, a couple of saltwater sailfin mollies and 3 marginated damsels. Also brought home my "rescue" jeweled moray. It had been chewed up by a green moray and is now healing in a tank of melafix.

All-in-all, a pretty productive, expensive, and totally enjoyable vacation.

That is the intent, unless I am fortunate enough to have [acronym:0643847ce2="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:0643847ce2]'s and individuals in the general area keep me busy enough..
