I need to vent

I recently have started using another forum along with this one to increase my knowledge and pass on the things I have learned to fellow fish keepers. The other forum I have been using is www.reeflounge.com.
I added a banner with a link to aa.com for my signature under my profile. When I checked out the site tonite I noticed my signature had been removed. I had posted some links to threads on this site to help some people on that site. I also noticed that all those posts had been removed. I also recieved a pm from one of their mods (EDIT). The PM said, "there is something wrong with your signature, and you need to fix it". To be honest, I would say this whole situation has gotten me a little torked. I have left a post giving them a chance to explain whats going on. I will keep you guys posted. I think what they are doing is wrong and is very rude.

I think it's a person's right to do whatever, whenever with their site. They put in the time and money to establish and run it, as well as the upgrades, you don't like it...there are plenty of sites on this information superhighway.

I can understand their position, your site is a semi-direct mirror image of this site. Why should McDonalds advertise the Whopper?

Because it is hypocritical for EDIT to come over here and spam answer a few post with his URL in his sig, but then not allow others a link in their sigs. IMO, that is the problem. I agree with bearfan, but he opend the door months ago when he spammed this site.

Just wanted to tell everyone that I EDITed out the specific members name from the posts. We all know whom we are refering to and for those who dont I do not feel we should single the person out to a degree that they recivce negitive remarks by other members.

I agree that its a bit hypocritical to post links to their site all over the net but then have rules on their own site restricting posts to other reef sites to the links area.

I hope you get an explnation comes on their end.

Lets all get back to our fun times.

Welcome to the Reeflounge.com forum.

You Signature was deleted because it linked to another forum site.

We do not allow that on this board.

Being a moderator of a board yourself you can understand how it would look if I had my mods sign up on your board with large banners that link to www.reeflounge.com

You can add your forum to the Links page, just like other forums have done.

You post were also deleted because it contained no information, just links to your forum.

http://www.reeflounge.com/forum/rules.php#3

I hope you can understand that we have worked hard to get the forum to the level it is at and continue to work to get it better for all of our members, but linking to other forums (one that you are a moderator of) will not be accepted.

Thank you
Charlie

Funny thing is Im not even a moderator. And the links I posted, pertained to the exact question the person asked in thread. Need less to say, Im going to let them know where I stand, and stop using their site. They dont deserve aa.com members.

The situation has been rectified with reeflounge. I will continue to use both sites. I would just say, make sure you have a good understanding of their rules if you join.
