I was impressed

I went "back to town" today and where there once was a "Planet Pet" there now is a "Pet-o-rama" and I was REALLY impressed by everything. There fish set ups were PERFECT. It was almost like going to the aquarium. All of their fish were logically arranged. And by that I mean they had a wall of Ciclids, a wall of different tetras, a wall of gouramis etc. Even the goldfish tanks weren't over stocked. The displays were really really pretty and I only saw one dead fish out of 100+ tanks. And in most stores they only carry adult fish.. this place had babys of almost everything-Angels and rams the size of a quarters. And they had such a variety. Ive been debating on what kind of tetras I want and they had SUCH a huge selection all on one wall so I could easily see what I liked better. They had one giant wall unit aquarium with three sharks in it as well as several other beautiful displays. Even their turtle and reptile set ups were well done. I left and was like "wow". I will definatly be going back there to get the majority of my fish. If you live in the DFW are and know where HEB is.. Pet-o-rama is on the corner of Harwood and Browntrail.. I would definatly stop in.

Sounds like you found a great place! Did you have a chance to talk to any of the employees and see how good their knowledge is??

That sounds ideal! The shops around here, even the big chains, all carry only juvies, which makes it hard for newbies since they don't realize that cute 2" pacu at Petsmart will outgrow the 10-[acronym:b8d2ab5ada="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:b8d2ab5ada] right quick, [acronym:b8d2ab5ada="Laughing out loud"]LOL[/acronym:b8d2ab5ada], but my favorite [acronym:b8d2ab5ada="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:b8d2ab5ada] sounds similar to what you describe, just not as large. I'll bet you are coming up with all kinds of reasons to go "to town" more often

No I didn't.. we were sorta in a hurry (yet still took the time to gawk at all the pretty fish hehe).

Im going to call and see if the order fish. I will probably buy the majority of my fish there. Im going to take the $40 something I have in store credit at my [acronym:fe876c9130="Local Fish Store"]lfs[/acronym:fe876c9130] and buy plants and whatever baby fish they have that I want.. but other than that Im going to go back to town a bunch for fish!

The website is www.petorama.net its not complete but there are several pictures of the three stores they have in the area to give you an idea of how neat it is

Hey Krap, where in Illinois do you live? There is a pretty good fish store by me. He really doesn't have such a large selection of fish, but the ones he does have are very well taken care of. Place is very very clean.
