identify this cichlid for me?? :)

I bought a stray fish from a pet store and they didn't know what kind it was. I'm puzzled as well. Help me out?

You bought a fish from a lfs that couldnt id it? Not sure I would go back to that store again unless it was walmart and if it was I would only go back for everything except fish advise...

it looks like a hybrid to me its got very different markings than a bolivian ram has

He looks more like a super young flowerhorn with the black spotting and metallic than a Bolivian ram.

He could be a hybrid. He looks most like a bolivian ram to me. Hes super young. Like I said, surprise fish!

So this is what a SUPER YOUNG flowerhorn looks like. He looks just like this little guy only a bit bigger. So maybe the problem is solved?! I hadn't even thought to check into flowerhorns. Anyone have tips on what his temperment will be like?
