Im getting a job!

I was in the LFS yesterday, where I have made a lot of freinds, not just with the fish, and there were a few new employees. Not to be mean but they did not need to be there!

A man came in and bought a 10 gallon setup, lights, heater, filter. Looked great, here is the problem. The employee, we will call him Don, walked him to where the fish are! Ahhh! It gets worse, not only will the fish not have good dechlorinated water, they wont be able to move! He showed the poor man an OSCAR!!! And two other CICHLIDS! NOT AMERICAN. I wanted to cry. But instead i spoke up. Don was actually glad for my help. I told the man to buy some dechlorination fluid and let the tank run for a few days, and get the temp right for the fish he wanted. The owner of the store, named Kyle, thanked me for my help and asked me if i had a job, I told him yes but would love to work there this summer full time if there was a position!

Yes, I am gonna be working at Aquamain's, if anyone in NC knows the place. And it really helps that i know a lot about saltwater and reptiles and amphibs, not big on spiders though. Just thought I would share.

But i have to quit my job with T & J lawn service unless we can do all our jobs on Saturdays. Here I come Mr. Car!

Good for you!!!

Since your not of age yet I will offer to toss back a nice cold soda Here have one...

Just remember that each and every day we are all faced with opertunities to learn more about this wonderful hobby. And the day we decide to stop learning is the day we betray our fish.

Good luck and maybe you could do both.

Thanks for the pepsi!

I never did get my reef tank so this has got to be the next best thing, now I get to come home and tell you guys stories, in a while at least. I admit I know a lot about the sea and freshwater but there still are many things to learn.

I overheard a lady at the lfs that she had a metangula in 5.5 gallon tank, and she wanted to put more in it.
My girlfriend started talking to her and recomended she concider buying a bigger tank than more fish lol.

Sounds great! I'm sure the store and its customers will benefit by having someone with your knowledge working there. Wish we could find someone like you to work at APC! Congrats.

Way to go d9!

Thats a great story and i hope you succeed at the LFS! It goes to show you never know when you are going to have a chance to impress someone. Hate to sound like a geezer here, but never forget this story. This sort of thing can serve you well, in one way or another, for your whole life.

LFS job should beat the heck outta mowing lawns!
