I've Been Busy... Upgrading the lizard tank.

I've had this little Chinese Water Dragon for awhile, but he's getting big, so I built a "top" for his tank. It's made of wood and screen and sits on top of the 29G glass aquarium. I enlarged the pool and added a bunch of branches and fake plants. The heat lamps are in a seperate compartment which is screened on the inside so the dragon can't touch them. I also added a filter and aquarium heater to the pool to help with humidity. One pic shows the original tank.

FYI, I missed you guys! I've been traveling and working, not checking in... shame on me!

You have been doing a lot of work! That's amazing! The dragon looks a lot bigger too! I bet he loves running around that big top area!

Welcome back!

Rejoice, I can't wait until mine gets that old, so he'll be bigger! I have to keep him on a leash when he's out so he doesn't get lost... he did get bigger though.

Melissa, Ha ha ha "Mr. Extreme!" that's too funny. So you have a lizard also, do you know what kind it is?

Sharon it is just a Six-lined Racerunner, Cnemidophorus sexlineatus that I caught at my parents home.

Thanks, I'm pretty proud of it. Actually, I drive my girlfriends crazy because they get picked on for not doing things like that on their own. My husband goes out of town and comes home to a new deck rail, a remodeled room or some other "typically male" project. My friends all wait on their men to do their projects for them.

I just LOVE power tools!.... I'm talking about the kind you find at Home Depot, before any of you sickies out there start getting ideas!

Brian, are you taming your lizard? Is he/she becoming a pet? Mine is just starting to get where he doesn't mind being touched. I'm such an animal finatic, he will be my best friend before long. Right now I have two dogs, a cat, the lizard, a parrot and the four fish tanks. (I had to narrow down the fish tanks to squeeze in the lizard!... you know.. hubby-pg&e, that old thing)

I checked out the racerunner online. He's too cute! I guess it's the male that has blue on it. My sister has a beareded dragon with a lot of personality.

Awesome job! Your lizard must love his new home! I love power tools too, I have almost every saw available and love building and renovating. Love to meet other women that do too.
