I think you meant more like no photo manipulation as opposed to enhancement

or something

Actually, I meant enhancements, a manipulation (While the listed enhancements qualify, technically) is generally regarded as doing something to a photo that impacts only certain pixels, for the most part, filters and enhancements that effect all pixels equally are accepted and are no more than happens to most film when you drop it off at the 1 hour photo.

I thought a manipulation was more of a changing a green frog to be bright pink with black spots, as opposed to just cropping, blurring or whatever

Can both be words be interchanged?

I swear, im not being difficult, I am honestly just curious because I always thought manipulation was something else

Technically yes, they could. Any enhancement to the photo other than what comes straight out of the camera is manipulated, but as mentioned before the above listed enhancements are not considered manipulations. Conversion to B&W is also not considered a manipulation, but an enhancement.

That would be a manipulation, as that does not impact all pixels equally. Cloning is also a manipulation, removing or adding items to the photo are manipulations, etc...
