Las Vegas Recommendations?
My wife and I are taking advantage that I have a business conference in Las Vegas. We are going to take a few extra days there for ourselves.
We are not big gamblers but I am sure we will do some. We are both in our late thirties and our party days are long behind us. Does anyone have any recommendations for things to do, shows to see, or places to eat? |

Oh yes! Go to the "Nine Fine Irishmen" pub/restaurant in the New York New York Casino. It's a nice environment with good food and drink without a noisy bar scene.
Enjoy yourselves while you're there! |

Wayne Brady has an improv comedy show at the Venetian. Look online and I'm sure you can find tickets. Good places to eat are: Kahunaville at the Treasure Island on the strip (really cool laser water show that goes on while you eat) and Gallagher's Steakhouse has some really good steak in New York New York hotel on the strip. Those are the 2 places I remember. If your wife and you like to play golf I definitely recommend the Bali Hai golf course. It's a really nice course. For a couple free attractions definitely check out the volcano at the Mirage, the circus acts at Circus Circus and the music fountains show at the Bellagio (it's great!!!). Of course you can check out Sigfried & Roy's white tigers at the Mirage. The Bellagio also has a botanical gardens that is pretty cool.
Try to find a magic show going on if you can. The year I went I saw Lance Burton at the Monte Carlo...great show (unsure if it's still going on). Beyond that I'm a casino guy.

I`ve been there three times and all three times we went to the grand canyon when business was over. It`s only 5 hrs away and you have to go through the hoover dam to get there which is great also. We would drive down and spend nite and drive back next day. I promise you it will be something you`ll never forget. Only 5 hrs away

Have never been to Vegas but can think of one attraction that I see all the time on television and is rather impressive (not for sure how no one mentioned this one).

Thanks melosu58 and Lepomis!
I don't know about going to the Grand Canyon. That might have to be a separate trip. It is a bit farther than I probably want to drive for sure. We are going to see Cirque Du Soleil. I have seen them twice locally when the toured here and enjoyed it. We have tickets for the Beatles one at the Mirage. Thanks all for the suggestions! Keep 'em coming |

Head downtown to see the light show on Fremont Street. And while you are there make a visit to Binion's Casino, a little bit of Las Vegas history.

I would look into seeing Danny Gans at the Mirage. One of the best shows you will ever see.
Restaurant Casa Di Amore Contact Numbers: 702-433-4967 Tel Address: Casa Di Amore 2850 East Tropicana Las Vegas, NV 89121 Great Italian restaurant. It almost feels like you are back in time in old Las Vegas. The food is good at a good price and if you call them they will send you a limo and pick you up and drive you back for free. They also have live entertainment while you eat. Chin Chin is a good Chinese restaurant in the New York New York casino. Good food at a good price. Just don't order too much because portions are big. The fried rice is great. The Rio buffet and The Rio seafood buffet are two great buffets. They have a huge variety of different food including many things they cook for you in front of you. They cook steaks and stir fry. I would also stick around for the free show in the sky. I go twice a year so I can keep listing things but these are a few that are off the top of my head. Any other questions feel free to ask. Jim |
