Down by 1 vote. How is it possbile with the membership numbers that we can only muster a couple of dozen votes per day?

This board is no longer active enough to be number one. It is nowhere near what it was a year ago.

Bill, you are right that this board has slowed down since it's peak in 2005 but the stats are all very positive. We are actually at the same post rate we were last spring (a big jump from the lows around Christmas) and we have added 1,200 new members this year alone. We would like to keep things positive here and foster the community so even if we are number 2, 3, or 4 on AquaRank that will not take away from the fact we are trying our hardest to re-ignite the community.

I wish there was something I could do to bring back some of our old prolific posters (regulars) so if you know some, please pass the word on that Aquarium Advice is on the up and up again and we would love to have them back.

Also I read their go vote post on their site and the people are voting on multiple computers and accounts both at home and at work.

I do appreciate the efforts being made here, and this is still a very good forum. I check in daily, but I do miss some of the old regulars, and the discussions (sometimes heated) that used to be a big part of this forum.

Feel free to shoot them a PM and see if they have any desire to come back. The software running the site is 100% safe now and we have a team of members who are administering and moderating the site. There are a few odds and ends left before things are 100% restored on this new software but for the most part we full steam ahead in moving forward.

I see you are an advocate for local clubs, that is great. We have some virtual meeting spaces for clubs forming (link). Do you know if there is any list with contacts where we could contact club members and see if we can recruit them to make Aquarium Advice their virtual meeting space? I'd really like to work at increasing the number of participants in the discussions here so the velocity of the discussions will keep everyone engaged (even with the occasional heated debate).

As for Fantasy being #1, that's great. They have a really nice niche site and I am glad we have a lot of the same members. Hopefully we can give them a run for the money on the vote and keep them busy
