Missing fish

Set up a new tank last week added 8 guppy makes and 3 male black sword tails and a candy striped plec all ok yesterday the plea has been missing all day I have checked all ornaments and filter without removing it fully and can’t see him anywhere I have black gravel and stones on the bottom can they bury themselves??

Plecos are nocturnal, he may come out if you turn the lights out or look in the tank at night.

If you are worried, just remove all the hiding places one by one to find him. Thats the easiest answer.

Plecos and most other fish will not bury themselves in gravel. Sand, sure but gravel is hard for most fish to move around.

How big is the tank? Check behind the filter and heater, they will suck and stick to the walls as well.
