Most expensive fish would be my 5" queen trigger at 225. But she died when my tank wasnt cycled and my LFS misinformed me about me being cycled and the size. Luckily he died the 2nd night and they had a 3 day guarantee.

That's a lot! Btw, tomorrow I'm going with my friend to a really cool beach. He caught a small 4" stingray there today.

Ooh I'm soo jealous I've got a 55g fowler with only a moray and 4 damsels but I kno I'll have to upgrade.

Man,thats a bummer...this is going to be my next fish after the upgrade

We sure were,,thats why i actually enjoy forums and trying to answer as much as i can,to the best of my knowledge and experiences

I had that tang 10 years ago when I was 18. I never even thought about forums. Needless to say I took my LFS advice and put her in my 55. It wasn't long before the side effects of a confined space started showing. I've never felt so bad because you could see her literaly falling apart. After getting back into the hobby I've been doing my research before purchasing anything. I want to work my way back to an Achilles.

Most expensive fish I have ever seen. Ha those options in the poll aren't even near to some of the prices here at the LFS! For a rare pair of African show cichlids that are a proven, 100% breeding pair, it's around 800-2,000$ per fish.

Reason being is because they get fish that probably no one would ever go looking. They have some rarities here that are around 300$! And that's just a tiger fish or a moray eel...

I know, it's quite ridiculous IMO, why would anyone spend that much money on a fish? I mean I love fish, but not THAT much! There's a certain limit on how much I'm willing to spend on my fish...

I saw an electric eel at that fish place for $600 I think. Unfortunately my mom would let me get it for various reasons :)

someone offered like $400000 for the platinum arrowana(pretty sure its in china),there offer was declined. the most expensive fish i have seen was a $300 bamboo shark at a crummy LFS. my LFS has a pair of yellow seahorses for $300,and a mimic octopus for $150

the most expensive fish i have ever seen at my lfs was a japanese moray eel which he sold for 2k...once in a life time 300$ dwarf lionfish (i still cry about missing this little guy)

It is horrible that your fish died, but $225 is a lot of money to lose!
